  • What mental health conditions do you treat?
    Amethyst Holistic Health offers treatment for patients with the following mental health conditions: Anxiety Depression Bipolar Disorders Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Which states do you currently serve?
    Amethyst Holistic Health currently serves patients who live in the state of North Carolina.
  • Do you offer in-person appointments?
    Amethyst Holistic Health does not offer in-person appointments at this time. All virtual appointments are conducted via HIPAA compliant videoconferencing technology from the comfort of your home.
  • Do you specialize in providing care to a specific age group?
    Yes. While the provider is board-certified to provide psychiatric care for patients of all ages, the provider specializes in providing care for adults. At this time, Amethyst Holistic Health is not accepting any new patients under the age of 18 (including emancipated minors).
  • Can you prescribe medication?
    Yes. Brea Washington is a dual board-certified nurse practitioner in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP) who is licensed and authorized to prescribe medication as recommended based on FDA guidelines and evidence-based research.
  • Can you provide documentation for an emotional support animal (ESA)?
    Yes, the provider would be able to offer supportive documentation for an ESA if deemed necessary based on your clinical evaluation and the severity of your presenting symptoms.
  • What do I do if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
    If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact your provider at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time. At the time of your appointment being scheduled, your time slot is reserved for you and this prevents other patients from being able to schedule with the provider during this time. Therefore, missed appointments and late cancellations are subject to a $100 fee.
  • What are your hours of operation?
    Business hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Appointments scheduled outside of business hours may be available upon request. Please allow at least 48-72 hours for responses or appointment requests outside of business hours. If you are a current patient, please contact the provider via the Simple Practice patient portal for any medication refills or concerns.
  • Do you offer after-hours or emergency services?
    Amethyst Holistic Health does not offer after-hours answering services or emergency care. If you or someone you know are experiencing a mental health crisis, having suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or any other emergency situation please call 9-1-1 or 9-8-8 and report to your closest emergency department for evaluation.
  • Do you accept commercial insurance?
    Yes. Amethyst Holistic Health is currently in network with the following insurance providers below: Aetna (commercial plans) Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Carelon Behavioral Health Cigna Meritain Health Optum Oscar Health Oxford Quest Behavioral Health United Healthcare
  • If I don’t have insurance, can I pay for services out-of-pocket?
    Yes. If you do not have insurance or if Amethyst Holistic Health is out of network with your insurance provider, you may choose to pay for services out-of-pocket. Our out-of-pocket or self-pay fees are as follows for medication management only: Initial evaluation (60 minutes): $300 Follow-up evaluation (40 minutes): $200 Follow-up evaluation (20 minutes): $150 If interested in brief psychotherapy in addition to medication management, please inquire about additional fees when scheduling your follow-up evaluation.
  • How often do I need to be seen for medication refills?
    Amethyst Holistic Health creates an individualized care plan with every patient based on the severity and/or frequency of their mental health symptoms. Therefore, patient appointment schedules may vary but patients must be seen at least once every 3 months for prescription refills.
